Patch is the sweet, gentle horse that nearly all Pine Hollow riders start out on because he is so calm and easy to ride. Patch is a Pinto, which is an American term, though in Australia this is normally refered to as Skewbald or Piebald. A Piebald is a horse with irregular patches in any colour
except black and a Skewbald is a horse with black and white patches like a maggpie. These horses can occur in any shape, size or breed.
These horses have great stamana and can go for great speed in short bursts and usually are very happy and willing to work.
